Discovery Triathlon World Cup 2019 Entries Are Open

Entries for the Discovery Triathlon World Cup Cape Town 2019 are open, and multisport enthusiasts are invited to secure their spot at the start of the only ITU (International Triathlon Union) event on African soil.

The event takes place on Sunday, 10 February 2019, and will see thousands of athletes participate in a number of Triathlon and Duathlon races. In addition, they will have the opportunity to race alongside some of the world’s top triathletes who will vie for glory on the iconic blue carpet.

The Discovery Triathlon World Cup Cape Town is the official season opener for the 2019 ITU World Cup Calendar, which sees the world’s best contend for top honours in 18 races across the globe.

Triathletes will swim, cycle and run their way to the finish line in their choice of the Sprint or Standard triathlon. They will kick off their race with an exhilarating swim in the iconic V&A Waterfront Harbour, followed by a scenic cycle along the breathtaking Atlantic Seaboard, and a thrilling run through the leafy Green Point Precinct before dashing to victory on the iconic Blue Carpet.

While the course offers an achievable introduction to multisport for novice athletes who wish to challenge themselves, it also poses a challenge to seasoned and elite athletes who will aim to smash their PBs on this flat and fast route.

Meanwhile, the duathlon is the perfect event for those who would like to step outside their comfort zones and extend their single-discipline race repertoire. Three entry options are available in the duathlon: a super sprint, sprint and standard distance.

Teams are welcome in both the triathlon and duathlon, and schools can also enter their promising individuals and teams into the event.

Entries are limited, and Early Bird entry specials are available until 31 October. Enter today!
